Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation Names Ferry Scholarship Recipients
Two Taylorville High School (THS) seniors were awarded the Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship administered by the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Maddox Moffett and Kyley Wolf were each awarded $2,500 scholarships to assist them as they pursue careers in healthcare.
Moffett has been accepted to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where she plans to pursue a degree in respiratory therapy or physical therapy.
Moffett’s letters of recommendation praised her as a “conscientious student” and “dedicated worker” providing “strict attention to detail and efficiency” both at school and at her place of employment. She is the daughter of Tobi Moffett.
Wolf has been accepted into the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University, where she plans to earn her bachelor’s degree in science for nursing. She aspires to become a nurse practitioner.
Wolf is a member of the National Honor Society, the THS student council and the Key Club; she volunteers for Angel Tree, the local Food Bank and the local Salvation Army. She is the daughter of Eric and Alissa Wolf.
The Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship is awarded each spring to two THS graduates who plan to pursue a healthcare career. The late Dr. Ferry contributed a lifetime of service, dedication and commitment to his family, his practice, his community and Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
