TMHF Announces Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship Opportunity

Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation would like to encourage Taylorville High School seniors planning for a career in the medical field to apply for the Foundation’s 2017 Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship. 

George Ferry, DDS founded Mid-Illinois Dental Associates in 1949 and dedicated his life to his family, patients and the Taylorville community for over 50 years.  A charter member of the TMH Foundation, he served on the Building and Renovation Project Committee which included the opening of the Bertrand Hopper Clinical Services expansion in 1995.  In addition to his service to the Foundation, George Ferry, DDS also served on the hospital board through several administrations.  

In an effort to broaden Dr. George Ferry’s legacy and to support local students with medical talents, two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to Taylorville High School students pursuing an education in the healthcare field.  The 2017 scholarship recipients will be announced during Taylorville High School Awards Night on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 and honored at the Foundation’s Signature Event “Gifts of the Season” Saturday, December 2, 2017.  The Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarships are provided in partnership by the Ferry family, Mid-Illinois Dental Associates, Ltd and Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation. The recipients of the 2016 scholarship included Olivia Graham and Mallory Westrick.
