TMH to Offer Diabetes Self-Management Class
Taylorville Memorial Hospital is pleased to offer a Diabetes Self-Management Education Program called Diabetes 101. Participants will learn how to manage their diabetes and the self-care behaviors proven to improve glucose control.
“This is a great opportunity for those diagnosed with diabetes, prediabetes or gestational diabetes, are newly diagnosed, never received diabetes education or just need a refresher,” said TMH Dietician Janelle Cornell. “Among the topics discussed are the connection between food and diabetes, the importance of monitoring blood glucose and the natural course of diabetes.”
Participants will need an order from their physician in order to participate. It is a one-time opportunity covered through insurance.
The four week class will meet every Tuesday night from 5 to 7pm at TMH in room 457 starting March 21. Preregistration and interviews will occur on March 14. For more information on how to participate, contact Janelle Cornell at 824-1840 or email@example.com.
