Taylorville Memorial Hospital Named Among Most Wired in Nation
Taylorville Memorial Hospital (TMH) is one of the nation’s most wired hospitals, according to the Hospital & Health Networks’ 19th annual Health Care’s Most Wired Survey.
The survey is an industry-standard benchmark study that measures the level of information technology used in U.S. hospitals and health systems. The Taylorville nonprofit hospital is an affiliate of Memorial Health System.
This year marks the first time that Taylorville Memorial has earned this distinction. A total of 29 Illinois healthcare organizations were among more than 460 Most Wired hospitals and health systems nationwide, including two other Memorial Health System affiliates, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln and Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
“Developing and maintaining a secure electronic health record is crucial to high-quality care,” said Kim Bourne, president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital. “We’re very proud that our efforts in that area are being recognized on a national stage.”
Health Care’s Most Wired Survey, conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15, asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology initiatives. Respondents completed 698 surveys, representing 2,158 hospitals, or more than 39 percent of all U.S. hospitals.
